Fredrik Jostelius: I’m so excited to fight again

We sat down and tlked to Jostelius for the upcoming match at The Zone FC 13 – Tough Luck 26th of April in Lisebergshallen, Gotheburg.

Tell us about your preparations!
– It has been in my club Gladius MMA in Gothenburg. A total of 6 MMA classes a week, plus physical training.

You’ve had a break, have you been injured?
– I’ve had a break from competition for nearly two years . This because of damage yes . Got a meniscus injury that was forced to undergo surgery early last year. Once I had recovered, I got volvulus and had aslo to undergo surgery again. Which meant that I could not train MMA in six months. But I’m now fully recovered from it, and have never been more ready for the fight than now!

Tell us about experiences in your first match!
– My first match was at The Zone . It was an incredible feeling to get up in the cage in front of a big home crowd. Absolutely wonderful to have the support behind you!
I have attended many matches at the amateur level , so game wise , it was not much of a difference. It was perhaps a little extra nervous before the fight because it was my pro debut, but when the fight started, it felt like it was like any other fight I have been in.

What have you gotten better at since last time?
– Everything ! In particular my stand up.

What are your dreams for the future in MMA?
– To fight in the UFC.

Where do you see yourself in 3 years ?
– I do not know . Right now I want to get back in the game again and take one fight at a time, at the pace that I feel suits me right now.

How will the fight end?
– Hard to say . But I will do everything I can to have my arm raised at the end of the fight.

Why should people come and look at your fight on April 26?
– I’m so excited to fight! I will leave everything in the cage, so anything can happen … and you wouldn’t like to miss it!

The Zone Fighting Championship: The Zone Fighting Championship is a series of professional MMA event in Gothenburg. On April 26, 2014 The Zone FC 13 – ‘ Tough Luck ‘ will take place in Lisebergshallen. Expect spectacular matches between Swedish elite fighters and foreign fighters.
